You can delete your TripMath account and personal data at any time, directly in the app. Deletion is permanent and can't be undone.
Delete in the app
- Open TripMath and go to the Me tab.
- Tap Data & Privacy.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
You'll be signed out and returned to the start screen. If you signed in with Apple, the Sign in with Apple connection is revoked as part of the process.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your sign-in and your ability to log back into the account.
- Your profile — name, email, and photo.
- Your notifications, notification preferences, and the device tokens used to send them.
What is kept, and why
TripMath is a shared ledger. The expenses and settlements you recorded are part of other members' balances, so deleting them would make everyone else's totals wrong. Those records therefore stay with their trip — but they are anonymized: your name is replaced with a “(deleted)” label and your profile and contact details are removed, so you can no longer be identified from them. Trips and groups where you were the only remaining member are removed entirely.
Delete some data without deleting your account
You don't have to close your account to remove data. In the app you can delete:
- An expense — open it and tap Delete, or swipe the row in the trip timeline. Deleted expenses can be restored for 30 days, then they are purged for good.
- A whole trip, including its expenses and any receipt images attached to them, from the trip's settings.
- Your profile photo, from Me → Edit Profile → Remove Photo.
The one thing that doesn't work this way is an expense in a shared trip: it counts toward other members' balances, so deleting it changes what everyone owes. Any member of the trip can delete it, and everyone sees the change. If you'd rather we removed something for you, email support@tripmath.app from the address on your account.
